Happy Holidays Expected for Four Prince William County Families
CSCI’s Santa Sac holiday giving continues in its eleventh year
SPRINGFIELD, Va., - December 23, 2008 – Locally owned and operated Computer Systems Center Incorporated (CSCI) is helping four disadvantaged families in Prince William County this year by providing gifts, trees, decorations, groceries and household items for the holiday season through its Santa Sac holiday giving program.
Santa Sac, one of CSCI’s community initiatives, marks its 11th year of service to the community. CSCI program manager, Steele Wetherill, founded Santa Sac in 1997 and has been the coordinator since its inception. “The Santa Sac program is a reason for the families to believe good things can happen regardless of their current struggles or situations,” said Wetherill. Santa Sac raised $6,800 over a two-week period due to CSCI employee donations and matched contributions from corporate leadership. Every year, CSCI employees volunteer to shop for clothes, toys, household items, groceries and Christmas trees. Gift wrapping and delivery to the families then takes place in time for the holidays.
Santa Sac has helped numerous families in Fairfax and Prince William counties since the program started in 1997. Local social services departments and school districts assist in identifying disadvantaged families in need of holiday assistance. “Santa Sac has become a holiday tradition here at CSCI,” said Linda LaRoche, CSCI CEO. “It’s our way of making the holidays a little brighter for families who really need a helping hand.”
