Cardinal Environment Image

Cardinal Environment™, formerly Trusted Information Infrastructure™ or TII™, provides a turn–key, secure, PC–based computing environment for offices requiring the highest levels of information assurance – all within a customizable Trusted Reference Implementation framework. Cardinal Environment is a Protected Level 3/Protected Level 4 solution for both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks that provides the single infrastructure where all information processing can occur.

Functionality

  • One of the key features of Cardinal Environment is that it provides a familiar computing environment, Microsoft® Windows®, while still providing the highest levels of security to meet federal information technology security guidelines.

Cardinal Environment, at its core, is a Protected Level 3 environment that allows for the secure transfer of information between multiple secure networks and methods to effectively manage network enterprises.

Cardinal Environment is currently accredited with mostly commercial–off–the shelf (COTS) products. Using COTS products enables CSCI to provide best–of–breed technologies that are easily configurable to a client’s needs.

Key Features

  • Compartmented Data Management

Cardinal Environment leverages another CSCI product in the Cardinal Suite, Cardinal Collaborate to deliver compartmented document management capabilities and disseminate information on a need–to–know basis. Cardinal Environment can also support Cardinal ID™ to track relevant special access requirements (SAR) information, to include the personnel accesses and billets, program, facility and organization tracking – all while providing robust SAR reporting and management functions.

  • Defense in Depth

Cardinal Environment incorporates a variety of security countermeasures and "dovetails" their capabilities to provide total security coverage across the enterprise.

  • Centralized Management across the Environment

Cardinal Environment provides the ability to maintain configuration control, deploy software and monitor the health and well–being of the enterprise in a cost–effective manner.

  • Cross Domain Services

Information can be transmitted from low–to–high and high–to–low. Additionally, low side information can be viewed while at the high side via the web utilizing a PL4 COTS capability.

  • Modeling & Simulation

Cardinal Environment can support numerous Modeling & Simulation activities, including but not limited to CSCI's own Data Analysis & Visualization Environment (DaVE™) product.
