PrOMIS is an information management and collaboration solution for both Department of Defense and commercial customers based on a Lotus Notes® Domino platform . As the predecessor to Cardinal Collaborate™, PrOMIS has a long-standing track record for successful information management at a certified Protection Level 3 (PL3) security level. The PrOMIS solution delivers a secure environment with data replication and high accessibility from which communities of interest can collaborate and share compartmented, sensitive information.

PrOMIS allows users to store all the information whether it is by .MPEG, .WAV or any other electronic format in one location, enabling the user to classify, organize and search for the files easily and quickly. In order to facilitate working with the body of knowledge, PrOMIS contents are indexed to provide full–text searching of attachments as well as metadata.
Security
Through the use of compartments users can configure PrOMIS to best reflect the needs and projects of the organization, allowing Communities of Interest to be easily assigned and accesses granted and removed as the organization evolves.
Workflow
PrOMIS provides a workflow capability to allow routing of documents through review cycles and data security reviews. Rapid alerts can be handled efficiently, even across disparate groups in widely dispersed locations. Users can review their mail queue for links to active collaboration requests. Managers can be assured that sensitive information is checked and verified before being exposed to a Community of Interest.
Traceability
With robust logging and auditing mechanisms, administrators can keep their fingers on the pulse of sensitive information exchange. PrOMIS provides a robust audit trail on events involving user access, compartment management and data/information access.
Information Exchange
To facilitate inter- and intra-team communications, PrOMIS provides a centralized work queue so that workflow activity and actions are reachable from a single location, allowing users to work efficiently across a wide range of duties and organizational structures. PrOMIS includes a hierarchical discussion area whereby all team members can take part in the important discussions relating to the project instead of attempting to perform discussions through email, where there is the potential for loss of information or the risk of the right experts not being included.
