COMPUTER SYSTEMS CENTER INCORPORATED SIGNS
$13,281,518 CONTRACT WITH DARPA
CSCI to Provide Secure IT Environment
Springfield, VA—February 23, 2004—Computer Systems Center Incorporated (CSCI), a unique and solidly established small technology company that excels in solving complex problems for the private and public sectors, today announced that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded CSCI the Information-On-Demand project, a special access program network feasibility study.
The Information-On-Demand Special Access Program was awarded in an $8,749,918 increment as part of a $13,281,518 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. DARPA plans to have the project completed by March 2005. DARPA selected CSCI out of 104 received bids and an unknown number of solicited bids via the World Wide Web on November 4, 2002.
“Winning this contract is a major accomplishment for CSCI,” said Linda LaRoche, Chief Executive Officer for CSCI. “Over the course of the last eight years, CSCI has been developing our flagship product, Trusted Information Infrastructure™ (TII™).“
TII ensures a trusted information security environment that allows for the secure transfer of information between secure networks at multiple levels, giving access to individuals on a need-to-know basis. TII is designed specifically for centralized administration to control the flow of secure information in and out of an organization by compartmenting data through directory management that ensures the identity of those accessing the data and authenticity of the data. Centralized administration allows movement of the data through different classification levels, regardless of the end users’ location.
“This feasibility study will demonstrate that sharing secure information-on-demand is possible and not only in research and development,” said Peter Anderson, Chief Technology Officer for CSCI. “TII is reality; we use it daily in our environment and have been for many years.”
