Protecting classified information and maintaining the integrity of classified programs is an essential part of any project. To meet these demands, personnel must be well trained on current policy that governs the U.S. government security devices. Security Specialists must have an understanding of governing executive orders, DoD policy and service level security policies in order to ensure the highest level of confidentiality is maintained.
Currently most of CSCI’s contracts maintain a classified component which requires knowledge of how to handle information classified up to the TOP SECRET level, as well as, compartmented programmatic information. In order to meet the stringent requirements contractually required by the Department of Defense (DoD), CSCI has developed a robust, well-trained professional security team to meet these demands.
CSCI maintains a cadre of highly experienced and qualified security specialists. Personnel are trained and have an in-depth understanding of the governing policies for their respective areas of expertise. Services provided include:
CSCI provides subject matter expertise and has consulted on a number of DoD and Joint Staff policy reviews and the establishment of technical procedures such as the SAP Nomination Process (SAPNP). Additionally, subject matter experts (SMEs) have consulted on the development of security classification guidance for multiple SAP and ACCM programs.
CSCI Security Specialists provide inspection services and training assists to Joint Staff, combatant commands, services, other agencies and all levels of the industrial complex participating in programs where CSCI is the primary provider of security personnel.
Technically proficient with a certified team of information assurance professionals, CSCI maintains the ability to establish and document the risk management framework (RMF) for networks capable of handling information at all levels. The security team understands the importance of discretionary access controls and ensures technical solutions meet the minimum requirements to meet the required system protection level.
CSCI seeks to provide the highest level of professional services in terms of security management. The goal is to provide well rounded professionals with sufficient training, education and understanding to meet customer requirements and ensure the integrity of all programs is maintained to the highest standard. To attain this goal CSCI encourages personnel to be certified in project management (CAPM/PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and in Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) by the office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD(I)) .
The security specialist team is composed of individuals who have extensive security experience in the military as well as the commercial area, including operations security, computer, physical, personnel security, and document management. This security expertise includes all levels of classified information including special access programs. The security team is highly motivated with diverse educational backgrounds, including university degrees, training acquired from military service schools, and experience gained from years of daily operations. All of the Security Specialists are either certified by OUSD(I) or currently enrolled in security education programs that will lead to certification.
