CSCI is in search of a motivated, senior cybersecurity systems engineer to join our team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and security of information technology devices (Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, EMC storage area networks (SAN), VMWare ESXi environments, Cisco VoIP technology, and Microsoft Active Windows servers and workstations) in several environments. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the security hardening of these devices to meet the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements for accreditation of these systems and the continuous monitoring and maintenance of the devices for these systems.

To be a successful cybersecurity systems engineer, the candidate will possess advanced hardware and software systems knowledge and exceptional analytical thinking abilities. The candidate will be meticulous and detail-oriented, with excellent technical and information security skills. In addition, the candidate will be skilled at drafting security policies and training less technically qualified employees to be security conscious.

A top-notch cybersecurity systems engineer will effectively resolve technical issues and implement cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and secure information technology devices (Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco routers and switches, EMC storage area networks (SAN), VMWare ESXi environments, Cisco VoIP technology, and Microsoft Active Windows servers and workstations) in several environments.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10-12 years experience with cybersecurity systems engineering/administration.
  • The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively and with courteous professionalism while providing user support.
  • The candidate should possess good writing and editing skills to aid in the writing process and general IT/IA documentation.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, such as Microsoft, Linux and UNIX.
  • Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP IP.
  • Exceptional communication and customer relation skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Education:

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related discipline. An advanced certification in the network engineering field is preferred.

Requirements - US Citizen / Top Secret/SCI Eligible

Training/Certifications:

Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, and VCP (VMware Certified Professional)

Minimum Clearance:

Applicants are required to have, at a minimum, a TOP SECRET (TS) clearances with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last 5 years.
