CSCI is seeking a well-qualified and self-motivated Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a Department of Defense (DoD), the customer.  All candidates require experience implementing and supporting Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.  Experience managing and implementing STIG configurations of Cisco switches are also required.

Candidates must have experience supporting infrastructures that must meet and adhere to the challenging controls defined in the DoD Intelligence Information System (DoDIIS) – Joint Security Implementation Guide (DJSIG) and the DoD Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG).   Strong experience implementing and supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) has defined in the above directives is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and customer service to a unique military and civil service customer base.
  • Work with other technical personnel to gather user and mission requirements to design, develop, implement, and maintain information system (IS) environments that follow the RMF as defined in the DJIG and JSIG.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and following associated processes in support of multiple systems.
  • Perform SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) scans to ensure configurations are by latest DISA STIGs.
  • Perform Nessus Security scans to ensure all known vulnerabilities are mitigated or documented within a system Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Interface with external entities in regards to maintaining Authorizations for internal and external infrastructures to operate.
  • Review and evaluate RMF packages from outside organizations to provide inputs and recommendations to Authorizing Official (AO).
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for external personnel to contact in regards to the adoption of RMF within their organizations.
  • Mentor other technical team members.
  • Provide training to users on the system.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills with Linux and Windows operating systems to go along with an in-depth understanding of the RMF process.
  • Intermediate skill set on configuring and supporting Cisco switches.
  • Knowledge and experience are configuring RAID levels for network storage devices.
  • Experience in implementing system backups.
  • Must be able to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Strong writing skills to create and review RMF documentation.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Ability to effectively work with others that helps foster and encourage a positive work environment.

Experience:

Requires 5-8 years in Information Technology or Cyber Security environment supporting the Department of Defense.

Education:

BA/BS or AA/AS in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or related discipline.

Requirements - US Citizen / TS Clearances

Training/Certifications:

DoD 8570 Compliance. IAT Level III Certification (CASP, CISA, CISSP, GCED, and/or GCIH) desired.

Minimum Clearance:

Applicants are required to have, at a minimum, a TOP SECRET (TS) clearances with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the last five years. Applicants selected must be willing to submit to an initial and random counter-intelligence polygraph.
