CSCI seeks a Junior Systems Engineer for the F-35 Lightning II MPE IPT to support the F-35 NextGen MPE. CSCI’s team seeks problem solvers, innovators, technologists, and operators looking to remain at the forefront of driving meaningful change and be in direct support of the MPE IPT to assist in defining how requirements modeling and analysis can provide the basis for a new secure enterprise for technical evaluations, program scheduling, and development. As a member of the CSCI’s team, your work will align the most innovative solutions to evolve and transform how our customers accomplish their most complex challenges.

This position is remote. CSCI prefers candidates from the National Capital Region, Dallas, or Fort Worth, Texas. The candidate must attend in-person meetings at the various Client Facilities, which may require local, long-distance, or foreign travel.  

Responsibilities

The candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform duties and tasks as directed in support of the F-35 MPE IPT as a systems engineer to develop and maintain a full systems-level model of the F-35 MPE. Employ modeling techniques to create processes and requirements to develop in-house collaborative tools for the F-35 mission planning community.
  • Support the coordination, planning, and execution of Noble Endeavour, which is an annual joint U.S. and partner nations MPE trial focused on the evaluation of current MPE capabilities and future capabilities assessment required. 
  • Coordinate with F-35 leadership to support F-35 strategy execution in the NextGen Open Mission Systems (NOMS) development pipeline. 
  • Participate in documenting MPE impacts and functions for these new capabilities, utilizing systems engineering expertise using the Advanced Requirements Characterization, Engineering, and Representation (ARCHER) method. 
  • Support Enterprise level roadmap strategy development and execution through close collaboration with Lockheed Martin to develop a joint roadmap and execution strategy. 
  • Participate in Portfolio level decisions and facilitate communication channels with the Solution level groups. Provide a secondary line of support to the NOMS Portfolio without the F-35 JPO technical lead. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to the MBSE team and other enterprise levels. 
  • Support joint USAF/USN F-35 modeling working group to utilize modeling F-35 missions to define next-generation requirements.
  • Support F-35 Early Lifecycle Systems Engineering capability working groups to define F-35 emerging capabilities.
  • Support periodic review and update of the MPE Enterprise Representation Model and its associated material in the F-35 Air System Model.

Skills - Minimum 2 Years of Experience

Experience:

This position is remote; however, Continental United States Travel and Foreign Travel Required.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 2 -5 years of work experience in full-time professional experience working as a systems engineer.
  • Contribute to developing sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and experience with System Modeling documentation tools (i.e., Rhapsody, Cameo, etc.) desired.
  • The candidate must be able to be cleared at the SECRET level upon employment commencement.

Education:

BA/BS in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline. 6 years of work experience in a related field is an acceptable equivalent.

Additional Experience Desired:

  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management.
