CSCI is in search of a talented network engineer to join our team. In this role, the candidate will analyze computer networks, develop and implement fixes, modifications, and upgrades, and diagnose and resolve system errors or technical issues. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for desktop and network security, troubleshooting network access, and implementing network security policies and procedures. The candidate must pay special attention to detail and work independently within the established procedures to ensure network security access and protect against unauthorized access, modifications, or destruction. The candidate’s responsibilities include performing risk assessments, audits, staff training sessions, and monitoring network activity.

To be a successful network  engineer, the candidate will possess advanced hardware and software systems knowledge and exceptional analytical thinking abilities. The candidate will be meticulous and detail-oriented, with excellent technical and information security skills. In addition, the candidate will be skilled at drafting security policies and training less technically qualified employees to be security conscious.

A top-notch network engineer will effectively resolve technical issues and implement cost-effective solutions.


  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions;
  • Update software with the latest security patches and ensuring the proper defenses are present for each network resource;
  • Perform upgrades installation, configuration, and administration of computer systems;
  • Monitor computer systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors;
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and developing practical solutions.
  • Perform vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and developing disaster recovery plans.
  • Configure security systems, analyzing security requirements, and recommending improvements;
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior;
  • Create network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction;
  • Consult with staff, managers, and executives about the best security practices and providing technical advice;
  • Configure and supporting security tools, such as firewalls and anti-virus software; and
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in technology, security protocols, and best practices.



  • A minimum of 6-8 years of network engineer experience with cybersecurity systems engineering/administration.
  • The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively and with courteous professionalism while providing user support.
  • The candidate should possess good writing and editing skills to aid in the writing process and general IT/IA documentation.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, such as Microsoft, Linux and UNIX.
  • Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP IP.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.


BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related discipline.

Requirements - US Citizen / Secret


CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification may be advantageous. DoD 8570 Compliance.
