CSCI seeks a F-35C Subject Matter Expert Subject Matter Expert (SME) team member who will support a major U.S. Navy customer with technical subject matter expertise. This position supports the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N98 and receive and execute directions from F-35 Requirements Officers, Strike Branch Head, and OPNAV Air Warfare Division (N98) Director.

This position is on-site, Monday-Friday. The primary duty location will be the Pentagon, with an alternate worksite in Springfield.

Responsibilities

As one of the contributing team members, F-35C SME primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Actively participate in Strike Branch meetings as the F-35 senior analyst and stay attuned to intelligence updates about air warfare, air system test and evaluation, and fleet integration.
  • Develop briefing materials in relation to studies, program updates and budgeting decisions.
  • Meet and collaborate with Program Office staff to conduct on-site analysis and engineering model development.
  • Coordinate program interoperability with program offices, fleet commands, and other services.
  • Conduct operational analysis of requirements to determine technical and tactical feasibility.
  • Create strategies for programmatic structure while considering alternative solutions.
  • Understand the cost-benefit of system discrepancies between technical solutions and other doctrines, organizations, training materials, leadership, and education decisions.
  • Understand and analyze the trade space between cost, performance, and schedule.
  • Ensure that all written content meets our company’s standards and the customer’s (US Navy) standards.
  • Conduct budgetary analysis to verify and understand impacts to OPNAV N98 and overall Navy top-line budgets as they relate to the budget of F-35C.
  • Provide acquisition analysis, ensuring requirements are understood.
  • Verify information, including checking facts, reviewing resources, or conducting additional research.
  • Collaborate with writers, subject matter experts, researchers, and developers to ensure accuracy.

Skills - Minimum of 12 Years Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • 12 years of related experience required in the DoD environments. 
  • Understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and the Navy’s budgeting process.
  • Ability to develop requirements via the Capability Based Assessment (CBA) process and requirements as they relate to threats, and technical and tactics development.
  • Detailed knowledge of 5th Generation Navy Strike Fighter and Fighter Weapons Tactics and Tactics Development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-developed analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be willing to actively communicate with co-workers, program leadership, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with “White Paper” analysis development and brief production.

Experience Levels:

LEVEL 1 – requires a minimum of 3 years related experience
LEVEL 2 – requires a minimum of 5 years related experience.
LEVEL 3 – requires a minimum of 8 years related experience.
LEVEL 4 – requires a minimum of 10 years related experience.
LEVEL 5 – requires a minimum of 12 years related experience.
LEVEL 6 – requires a minimum of 15 years related experience.
LEVEL 7 – requires a minimum of 20 years related experience.

Compensation

Compensation at CSCI is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. While monetary compensation is important, it’s just one component of CSCI’s total compensation package.

Salary Range

$140,000 – $170,000 /Yr.
