Thief V2

Body-Worn Radio Direction Finding

THiEF V2 builds on the original system with expanded frequency coverage and added digital signal capability. The form factor stays small, so it can be carried or mounted without taking up too much space. It’s intended for use in environments where larger RDF systems aren’t practical.

What Sets It Apart

Low Visual Signature
Compact, body-worn design reduces operator exposure and supports deployment in configurations with reduced visual exposure.

All-in-One Design

Integrated receiver and antenna eliminate the need for additional external components.

Expanded Frequency Coverage

Operates from 20 MHz to 3 GHz, with DF capabilities up to 1.8 GHz.

Digital PTT Support

Demodulates and decodes common digital push-to-talk (DMR) signals.

Extended Runtime

Hot-swappable batteries enable uninterrupted extended operation.

Operational Capability

THiEF V2 supports multiple deployment scenarios—from single-operator use to networked configurations.

Operators can connect multiple RDF nodes to a single controller, allowing for coordinated direction finding and improved situational awareness.

  • Network multiple nodes to a single controller
  • View line-of-bearing data in real time
  • Store and review signal data automatically
  • Operate in DF or homing modes

User Interface

The system uses an Android-based interface with ATAK integration, providing a familiar environment for field use.

  • Map-based display of LOB data
  • Real-time and archived signal visualization
  • Simple configuration for search, scan, or single-channel operation

Form Factor & Deployment

THiEF V2 is built for field flexibility.

  • Under 2 lbs (receiver unit)
  • Less than 6-inch diameter integrated antenna
  • Handheld, vehicle-mounted, tripod, or concealed configurations
  • Fully operational while in motion

System Performance

  • Frequency Range: 20 MHz – 3 GHz
  • DF Range: 20 MHz – 1.8 GHz
  • Search: Up to 200 adjacent channels/sec
